FAQs
Your Questions Answered
What are your fees?
Counselling sessions are $170 per 50 minute appointment. Payment is due at the end of each session by cash, cheque or e-transfer.
Is therapy covered under my benefit plan?
Most insurance providers cover psychotherapy services. Check with your individual provider regarding therapy with a Registered Social Worker (MSW RSW), the amount covered and benefit renewal date. You will be given a receipt to submit to your insurance provider following payment.
If you do not have a benefit plan, you may be able to claim therapy as a health expense on your taxes.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes. A limited number of subsidized spaces are available, based on need. Please contact me directly for more information.
Do you offer free intake consultations?
Yes. Complimentary 15 minute phone intake consults are available upon request.
What is your cancellation policy?
48 hour notice must be provided for all cancellations or changes to appointment times. A full charge will be made for all cancellations less than 48 hours.
What about parking?
Free parking is available in the parking lot next door (entrance off of Norwich street), as well as free two hour parking along Woolwich and Norwich. Also easily accessed by public transportation.
Can I bring my baby?
Of course! I have a play yard available, please just let me know prior to our session so I can ensure that it is all set up for you and baby. Virtual sessions are also available if that feels like a better fit at any time.
How is CBT different than other types of therapy?
Cognitive behavioural therapy is one of the most highly researched and evidence based forms of counselling, with a focus on providing hands-on tools and strategies. CBT is more than just 'talking about a problem' - it creates lasting change.
